Serialized inventory & IMEI tracking

Last updated: April 2025

Unlike spreadsheet-based tracking that manages devices at the SKU level, Techfleet Sync tracks every individual unit by its IMEI. You always know exactly which device is available, its condition, and its location.

What's tracked per unit

  • IMEI number (unique device identifier)
  • Grade (A, B, C — or custom grades)
  • Battery health percentage
  • Storage capacity
  • Color
  • Status (available, sold, reserved, in repair)
  • Purchase cost and notes

Grading

Assign grades manually or use AI autograde to grade devices from descriptions or photos. Grades appear on buyer storefronts — buyers can filter by grade and see available unit counts per grade.

Serialized vs. bulk inventory

Techfleet Sync supports both. Serialized products track individual IMEIs. Bulk products track a quantity without individual unit records. You can mix both in the same inventory.

TIP

For high-value devices (phones, tablets, laptops), use serialized tracking. For accessories or low-value items, bulk quantity tracking is simpler.
